Knowledge is power, and our Opioid Awareness initiative rests on that premise. By fostering community understanding and encouraging overdose prevention, we aspire to help save lives and counter the opioid epidemic.
Our primary goal is to generate a wider understanding of the dangers of opioid abuse and to advocate for the use of Narcan – a lifesaving intervention – in case of an overdose.
We focus on educating communities about the perils associated with opioid misuse, bolstering support for preventive measures, and emphasizing the importance of Narcan usage for timely overdose intervention.
The opioid crisis continues to claim numerous lives. By raising awareness and encouraging proactive prevention, we aim to empower communities to join the fight against opioid abuse and save lives together.
Our advocacy is relentless and persistent, as events, initiatives, and interventions take place throughout the year to reach out to those affected or at risk, strengthening the connection within our communities.
Resources for Humanity presents a multidimensional strategy for Opioid Awareness, combining educational programs, community initiatives, collaboration with professionals, and widespread promotion of Narcan usage.
An informed community is better equipped to identify opioid-related risks and take effective actions to prevent potential disruptions to community and family harmony.
By raising awareness and promoting preventive measures, we strive to reduce instances of opioid misuse and related overdoses within our communities.
Our education and promotion of Narcan usage can save precious lives by providing an effective and timely response to overdose emergencies.
We aim to create supportive environments that foster open conversations about opioid abuse, prevention, and recovery, bringing together individuals and professionals.
Are you ready to make a difference and stand together against the opioid epidemic? Be a part of our Opioid Awareness Campaign and help us save lives. Together, we will strengthen the bonds within our community and equip ourselves with the knowledge necessary to move towards a safer, healthier future. The time to act is now – every action counts.
James Smith, our founder, began his journey in Robeson County. Born and raised in an area afflicted by poverty and hardship, he turned to drugs and criminal activity as an escape from the harsh realities of life. His troubled behavior led to him being incarcerated multiple times, the first time at the young age of 12. But from these challenging experiences emerged the inspiration to create an organization committed to helping others navigate their way out of similar hostile environments. Thus, Resources for Humanity was born.
